Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is an American-British sitarist and musician. She was the youngest and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and serve as a presenter at the award ceremony. Anoushka shankar is one of the rising stars of India's sitar. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled from London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. At the age of 13, she finished her high schooling in Encinitas CA. The career of Anouskha as a recorder and performer is impressive, despite her young age. Her father has been with her on numerous occasions for several years. In 1998, she dropped Anourag as her first solo record. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. As she's appeared on all the major stages in the world, her performance career is extensive. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't limited to music. In 2002 she published the book Bapi The Love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. Also, she appeared in the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. Her role was a Bharat natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shankar is currently a rising celebrity and her popularity will continue to grow. Anoushka Shakar was born in England lived the majority of her adult life in London Delhi. After moving to California she completed high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies when she was nine. After four years she performed her appearance on the sitar in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. Anoushka's father toured around the world with her and she gained many opportunities. While still in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. In recognition of being a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
